Diana Vurnbrand was born in Lima, Peru; later, she studied Art History at Hebrew University in Jerusalem where she finished her career at the prestigious Betzalel Academy of Arts and Design. In 1992 obtained her degree as a professional photographer at the New England School of Photography in Boston.

The artist creates models of romantic rooms which later she photographs as her final product. As per the artist, she is inspired by 15th-century paintings to create powerful, and yet romantic, portraits of women. Shooting an image is the last step of my artistic process. The real work takes place in the construction of the headdresses and painted backgrounds, with the aim to create an atmosphere of mystery and romance, wherein a symbiosis takes place between mother nature and strong beautiful women.
