Part of a thematic essay, this landscape looks towards Manhattan from Roosevelt Island. Its title suggests, by way of the rusty fence and dried grasses in the foreground, that by breaking through these rural barriers the means necessary to achieve prosperity are within arms reach. This journey is not without challenge however, as one must navigate the powerful current of the river that separates us from that meaningful goal.
