My husband and I hiked down into a remote valley on the Big Island of Hawaii. It is called Poholu’u Valley. The beautiful ironwood trees just begged to be painted. This painting was one of my final thesis paintings for my Masters of Fine Arts at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Created in 2017, this painting has been exhibited at a juried show at the Wailoa Cultural Center for the Midsummer Art Celebration.
