This art piece came to mind after seeing the beautiful painting of Vincent Van Gogh Café Terrace at Night, painting in 1888 in France. The goal was not to replicate what M. Van Gogh did but rather be inspired by him and his vision.
I chose to put emphasis on the lighting in the café but also on the street and the surrounding appartements and less on the people. Since the buildings are so close to the restaurant-cafe, it can either give an impression of closeness but on the other side, a feeling of suffocating. So the shining light brings a lightness and playful touch. Certain brush strokes, give you a hint about those sitting inside the coffee shop.
