The Equine Art of animal artist Fiona Purdy.
This is “Catnappin”, one of my more recent paintings. I took the photo of this beautiful horse at a quarter horse show where he was taking a snooze, patiently waiting for his rider to return.
The design elements in the border and on the frame represent the stitching on cowboy boots and embellished with weathered metal stars that mirrors the star on the horse’s bridle.
This painting features one of my trademark custom hand painted frames, which allows the border design to continue onto the frame.
Why have a boring barren frame when it can become an extension of the painting to tell even more of the story of the subject?
