My husband and I hiked down into a remote valley on the Big Island of Hawaii. It is called Poholu’u Valley. The beautiful ironwood trees just begged to be painted. This painting was one of my final thesis paintings for my Masters of Fine Arts at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
