“At the intersection, shadows are long.”
As a kid I was a rolling stone; my family was always on the move. As an adult, I found I could choose to stay or go; first making the West, then Albuquerque my home. My work reflects this choice. I’m drawn to things I see and know well that are all around me. I’m interested in the world as seen on foot and from my car window. This work is inspired by long autumn afternoon shadows experienced during walks through my neighborhood.
 I often re-purpose canvases in a way that doesn’t hide, but rather features what came before in the form of roughness The daubs and
licks of paint from previous works show up as texture, over which I paint new images.
