Critics and collectors call him: “The next Pollock”

Juan Cristobal Araoz is an Abstract Expressionist from La Paz Bolivia. Laguna Colorada is a piece from his FINDING collection. In his search to evolve as an artist and as a human being. FINDING has a broad meaning of about what creating entitles; it is engaging the viewer to interact with his art thanks to the pull-and-push effect, and most importantly to evoke and stir the viewer’s feelings. Juan throughout his short career is already getting the attention by collectors when they refer to him as the next Pollock!

His Favorite Famous Artist Quote is :

“What you do when you paint, you take a brush full of paint, get paint on the picture, and you have fate.”

Willem de Kooning
Born in 1983 in La Paz, Bolivia. After finishing high school, he moved to the United States to study at the University of Kansas. For the past seven years, he has continued his studies not only in Finance but also in Arts, attending different acrylic and mix media classes at the Miami Dade College.

In the need to find a stress outlet from his day to the daily work routine, he reconnects to a hidden passion that as a child he had but never fully explored, Art. As a kid, he would spend the weekends at his father’s studio drawing, painting, and creating mockups since he is an architect, and at the same time his mother will give him all kinds of art supplies, color pencils, oils, drawing books and much more.

Thus, this passion started flourishing again. First by creating his first painting to decorate his new home in Miami, and later to continue exploring it and expressing what he feels on the canvas. This journey is allowing him to reflect on who he is as a person and as an artist. He considers himself an abstract expressionist, autodidact, and a furtive artist that from the intimacy of his living room transformed into his studio he starts creating textures through the use of acrylics and different media. His main goal is to engage the viewer to interact with his art thanks to the creation of a pull-and-push effect, and most importantly to evoke and stir the viewer’s feelings.
