I began painting with oils in seventh grade. Â I grew up in Upstate New York, in a rural area that was lushly green, hilly and beautiful. Â My early painting dwelled on the landscape that I knew. Â After college and law school I practiced law for over forty years.
I have returned to art for the last several years. Although I learned painting using oils. Â My preference now is for acrylics and ink for the media. Â To be sure, acrylics are easier to use, but my preference actually reflects the vibrance and durability of colors that acrylics provide. Â
Although initially many of my paintings have been of natural settings, I have partially migrated to industrial scenes and architectural subjects. Â I like complex structures because of their sharp lines and the opportunity to display darks and lights and exciting colors. Â I intend my work to call out to the viewer and give a reason to engage and enjoy.
