Series of works “Waves” (“Waves”) about the duality of human perception, about the habit of dividing everything into good and bad, black and white, good and evil, although in reality, in the artist’s opinion, everything is not always so unambiguous. Creating works conditionally in a darker (Black) and lighter (White) scale in this series, Azgur Mir tries to find the points of intersection, interaction and unification of the conditionally “dark” and “light” in himself, irrational and rational, intuitive and conscious. That is, it is such a controlled experiment: the artist combines a planned sequence of actions and a lively unpredictable process of expressive painting to obtain the most interesting results. That’s how, working with painting and, in parallel, the World comes to the fact that the whole duality of human perception is very conditional, and destructive and constructive results can be born from the same impulses of the human soul.
The artist is captured by the theme of contrasts and amplitude jumps in various fields of life and art. Contrast between light and dark, fast and slow, stop and movement, volume and silence. Within the framework of visual art and painting, the interest in contrasts is manifested in a combination of colors, textures and shapes. In a static image of a painting, such contrasts embody dynamics: for example, combinations of monochrome patterns and bright colored elements. For several years, the artist experimented with many types of painting, construction, graffiti paints and materials, but after experiencing the effects of toxic materials on himself, he settled on water-soluble paints as the safest and most environmentally friendly. So a new field for experiments with contrasts was discovered: a combination of colors of different densities and fluidity in one picturesque layer and those dynamic effects that can be obtained due to such a combination.
