“Guided by my heart, I paint with the natural elements of beeswax, pigments, and fire; allowing me to infuse the mesmerizing beauty of nature into my art.”
The technique I use is Encaustic painting, the ancient and alchemic art of painting with beeswax mixed with pigments and damar resin (a tree sap from Indonesia) and fire. This collection, Water in Motion is inspired by the rhythm and flow of water and nature conveying a deep sense of Peace.
In my studio I experiment with the unpredictable and mercurial qualities of beeswax. It has taught me to treasure the imperfection and spontaneity of life.
Allowing nature and my heart to guide me, I paint layer-by-layer. It is my meditation. Adding the elements, firing with the flame of a torch, watching the beeswax and pigment combine; adding, smoothing, and fusing, again and again until I see what I feel in my heart. Then I know the work is done.
