Roxy Sora, arrived in Florida fromCuba when she was 8 years old through the Pedro Pan mission that brought more than 14,000 children to the U.S ahead of their parents. Roxy and her sister were sent to an orphanage until they were reunited with their parent. Her time at the orphanage served as her opportunity to express herself through drawings since she did not speak the language. That is where her love for art began. Roxy’s education of art is all self taught. She has worked in several mediums but in the last 10 years abstract art has become her passion.
Roxy has been featured in more than 3 issues of Spotlight Magazine. One of Roxy’s art pieces was recently chosen as a finalist among 3,500 art pieces throughout the country. She has exhibited with ArtBlend Gallery in Spectrum, Expo NY, SOFA, The Hamptons as well as museums and galleries.
