Inspired by apprenticing at a tailoring shop in his teen years, many of Hunter Connor's paintings are inspired by clothing design. Working mainly with mixed media, his paintings are rich in color and texture, imitating the textiles and cuts found in high end fashion. The clash of the strictness of the figures against an atmospheric background gives the viewer a focal point in the artwork they are viewing. Every painting has its own personality that is unified through the techniques that Connor uses in all his artwork. Hunter will be creating live in the booth Thursday through Saturday.
Artists lead the way bringing beauty and kindness into the world. Several Artexpo New York exhibitors have united to support the children of Ukraine giving their proceeds to the UNICEF Fund.
This engaging series reaches back to artist Andre Croteu’s early days as a fashion designer in New York’s Soho district. The series of eight 20" x 20" originals explores 80s supermodel pop culture combines alongside the artist’s fascination with textile, color, and reflected light, composing his works with resin, metal and acrylic pigments with sublimation printing.
Look for the Discoveries Collection labels throughout the show. Artexpo's Curatorial Team has selected a group of their favorite discoveries—each one a great option at $1,000 and $3,000 or less. Of course, there are thousands of affordable pieces of world-class art and on-trend, highly collectible works from across the U.S. and around the world at the show. Are their picks your favorites, too? Walk the show to find each one.
Is it the artists' creativity, the colors, the images, the messaging — or a combination of it all that draws us to an artist and their work? Meet these amazing artists and check out what's happening when some of them do live demonstrations:
