10 a.m.–5 p.m. ART LAB: SOCIALMEDIA SLAVE 2

In the Lobby

In a world where perception rules and reality is optional, we scroll, tap, and react—but are we truly living? Juan Luis Perez’s mixed media  sculpture confronts the manufactured selves we perform online: filtered moments, staged emotions, pixelated shadows of our real lives. We call it connection, yet drift from humanity, chasing validation instead of  understanding. Social Media Slave is both a warning and a challenge—an urgent reflection on how the digital age shapes, and sometimes erases, who we are.

10 a.m.–5 p.m. ART LAB: ST. MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL FIGHTING THE DEVIL ~ THE ULTIMATE BATTLE OF GOOD OVER EVIL

In the Lounge

Carved over four years from a fire-hardened cottonwood tree discovered along the Rio Grande, St. Michael Fighting the Devil is one of Cruz Lopez’s most celebrated monumental sculptures. Blending masterful woodcarving with hand-forged metal elements, the work portrays the timeless struggle between good and evil through extraordinary detail, dynamic movement, and powerful symbolism. A defining work in the artist’s career, it stands as a testament to faith, craftsmanship, and artistic independence.
