Dong Yang Gallery (Booth 511)
Yang Dong is one of the world’s leading sculptors, born in Tianjin, China, and currently living in Los Angeles. Yang’s work depicts a variety of subjects including animals, people, and abstract artworks. Over the course of his career, Yang has developed his own style that integrates Western sculptural language with Eastern humanistic qualities. His work depicts a clear, rigorous style and logic of Western figurative sculpture with his own thoughts and meditations. In short, Yang’s sculptures are a manifestation of his worldview towards life and nature. His work can be found in museums and private collections around the world.
Jen Tough Gallery (Booth 418)
Jen Tough Gallery began in the Bay Area of California in February 2017. A move to Santa Fe, New Mexico, a month before the Covid shutdown meant the gallery was never able to re-open. Fast forward two years and the Jen Tough Gallery is expected to open in its new Santa Fe home in Spring 2023. The Jen Tough Gallery will incorporate a new artist-focused business called AIR Studios (“AIR” stands for Artists in Residence) which are artist studio rentals by the week, with open studios each weekend. Tough was inspired by the origins of Canyon Road (the famous art gallery area of Santa Fe), which was created by dozens of artists opening their studios to the public. She believes that the future of art selling is changing to a more artist-centered model, and AIR Studios intend to help facilitate that model, where artists can meet and sell directly to the public. The gallery’s exhibit at Red Dot will showcase a wide variety of art and artists, from abstract expressionist Sarah Boyts Yoder to photo collage work by Liz Steketee, to quirky drawings by Laura Klopfenstein.
Natalia Fedner Studio (Booth 318)
Natalia Fedner is an Art to Wear couture designer and artist based in Los Angeles. She was born in Ukraine and immigrated to Columbus, Ohio as a child. Her interest in designing and inventing started at the early age of 4 when she began collecting “pretty colored wires” that were left as trash outside of a local telephone communications company in her native Chernivtsi, Ukraine. (She would turn them into bracelets for herself and friends). She moved to New York and later Paris to attend Parsons School of Design and study the techniques of haute couture. Fedner is most well-known for creating avant garde designs and jewelry for celebrities including Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Cher, Doja Cat, Janet Jackson, Charlize Theron, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz, Cardi B, Kourtney Kardashian, Kristen Stewart, Sharon Stone, and others. Her designs have been on runways in Paris and New York and featured in the prestigious New York windows of Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue. At Red Dot Miami 2022, Fedner is launching her first fine art offering, incorporating her patented textile into sculptures.
