FAQS
How much does it cost to apply?
It is free to apply to the fair.
What type of art do you accept?
A wide array of media is on display, including paintings, photography, sculpture, glassworks, and more. We do not accept jewelry, tapestries, or any sort of arts and craft works.
Do I have to be an artist or gallery to apply?
Each of our fairs will accept applications from galleries, dealers, or established collectives and most consider applications for solo artist presentations. Red Dot Miami is our only fair that is exclusively for galleries. Some of our other fairs, such as Art Santa Fe and Art San Diego, also accept applications from designers who make wearable art and accessories and functional objects.
What is [SOLO]?
[SOLO] is a curated exhibition of established and emerging independent artists, as well as some of the world’s best abstract, contemporary, and realist fine art photographers. [SOLO] allows independent visual artists the opportunity to showcase their work alongside established galleries, connect with high-net-worth collectors, and network with art industry pros. It is a special section at each of our Artexpo New York, Spectrum Miami, Art San Diego, and Art Santa Fe fairs.
Inspired by the successful [SOLO] pavilion at our Artexpo New York and Spectrum Miami fairs, we created the [SOLO] Project. The Project enhances [SOLO] beyond traditional visual artworks to an exhibition of innovative independent artists, fine art photographers, functional object artists and designers from across the U.S. and around the world. Offered at special pricing to launch emerging artists’ careers, the [SOLO] Project is incorporated into our Art Santa Fe and Art San Diego fairs, giving emerging artists and designers an upscale venue where they can be discovered.
What type of work should I submit with my application?
Our aim is to offer a diverse selection of works of art in a variety of techniques and styles by artists who are recognized for the quality of their work. Once you submit your application, our curators will carefully review it and your artwork. Work that may be accepted at one fair may not be at another, as it is also partly dependent on the other applications we receive.
How many images should I submit with my application?
Please submit up to five images of your artwork. Include your exhibiting name on all files. Accepted file types include JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF.
If I’ve exhibited at another Redwood Art Fair before, do I still need to apply?
Yes, applications for each fair are reviewed as individual submissions. Being accepted for one fair does not guarantee that you will be accepted at another.
How much does it cost to exhibit?
Redwood’s contemporary art fair booth pricing starts at $1,895 and varies depending on the fair and booth size. Once accepted into the fair, you will be requested to pay a 30% deposit to secure your place. The remaining 70% will be due at a later date. General Liability Insurance fees are included with the booth fees. A mandatory Cooperative Ad Fee will be assessed additionally for all exhibitors.
There are optional additional costs such as extra lighting. If your application is successful, you will receive further details on the booth extras available and their prices.
What is the Cooperative Ad Fee?
The Cooperative Ad Fee is charged to all exhibitors and includes a multitude of advertising and marketing initiatives including street banners, print advertising, digital marketing campaigns, signage, public relations, radio promotions, multimedia advertising, email campaigns, partnership marketing, online art gallery, VIP trade and collector epass program, social media campaigns and promotions, and more.
