Havana, Cuba is a fascinating place to photograph. Hamel’s Alley is a spot with small shops, lots of Santeria places. Along the path is this wall with bathtubs cemented into it with The Little Prince in Spanish. If you look closely you can see some of the rocks have faces painted on them. A wonderful image to photograph.
I have been photographing seriously since 2002, starting with film and moving very quickly to digital imaging. In 2006 I decided that photography was not enough and began painting my images, printing them in black and white and using water colors to enhance the image. All my images can be seen at www.patriciagilmanstudio.com. In 2017, I took this one step further and started designing textiles made with my original photographs. These textiles are available at www.pgstudiotextiles.com.
