The horses of Iceland are a breed apart, literally. They are to be found nowhere else in the world. If an Icelandic horse is shipped to another country it can never go back to Iceland. There are some farms in the US, but this is a unique animal. It has a unique gait as well. They are gorgeous animals – this one had the sun gleam in it’s eye, thus the blue.
I have been photographing seriously since 2002, starting with film and moving very quickly to digital imaging. In 2006 I decided that photography was not enough and began painting my images, printing them in black and white and using water colors to enhance the image.
