Life is a journey.
We see but we do not see.
In 1998, my wife and I took a vacation. Our journey took us to the Islands of Hawaii. We left our daughters with their grandparents in New York. The time differential was a bit disconcerting on the first two days, while we were in Honolulu. We did all the tourist spots including Pearl Harbor, A Luau (I had my first taste of Poi!).
From Oahu Island we went to Maui. There we enjoyed the beauty Hawaiian sky, and fantastic beaches and the serenity of nature, for four days.
Our last stop was on the Island of Kauai – four days of peaceful bliss. The warm Tradewinds blowing, the waves clashing on the rocks as they flowed to the shore. We took scenic helicopter rides for both Maui and Kauai, which allowed me to go back and capture the beauty of those islands.
Back to Honolulu and we flew to San Francisco, We spent three days just being tourist.
The Crashing Waves were captured on the Isle of Maui, during our time there.
I decided to digitally process them into an oil painting with a canvas background, which represents the serenity, power,
and beauty of Creation close to twenty-five years later.
Now that our paths have crossed let us travel together on this collective journey of wonder and beauty.
