This has been painted in 2022 and got revealed in the Art Expo NYC from 7th-10th April’22.
I have been planning to create a big painting in watercolors and this is the first one in the series of my oversized watercolor paintings.
Waterlilies are known as a divine flower in various cultures all over the world. They perfectly symbolize innocence, purity, fertility, pleasure, celebration, hope, rebirth, wellness, and peace. All ancient cultures around the world have associated the white lilies with gods and spirituality. Hence I preferred to title this painting as “Divine Flowers”. In Indian culture, where I hail from waterlilies symbolize resurrection in both spiritual arenas because many of the lilies close their flowers at night and reopen in the morning at first sunlight. These flowers have a lot of significance in most of Asian countries, but also in Egyptian culture n Greek culture too.
I absolutely loved going beyond my comfort zone to create this and it turned out to be a bright, vibrant painting which can make any space delightful to look at 🙂
