The image was taken in Inwood Hill Park in upper Manhattan on a gloriously sunny day in the winter. The yellow trucks struck me when I saw the reflection in the inlet, where the ducks were swimming.
I have been photographing seriously since 2002, starting with film and moving very quickly to digital imaging. In 2006 I decided that photography was not enough and began painting my images, printing them in black and white and using water colors to enhance the image. All my images can be seen at www.patriciagilmanstudio.com. In 2017, I took this one step further and started designing textiles made with my original photographs. These textiles are available at www.pgstudiotextiles.com.
