Imre Hasanic, was born 1958 in Palic in the former Yugoslavia. He grew up in Germany, where the family emigrated to in 1971.
Active in the Ulm art scene, in 1984 he became a student of the Italian painter and symbolist Roger Ades.
In 1986-7 he visited the Art Center College of Design / Pasadena in Los Angeles, California.
Going through many cycles and styles in painting, he developed a direction which he calls abstract symbolism.
