Being based in the San Francisco Bay Area, photographer Karen Scally has had the fortune to visit the West Coast city, and its iconic Golden Gate Bridge many times. This particular image was captured from Horseshoe Cove right before sunset, and the illumination of the bridge invites the viewer to a mysterious and intriguing narrative, where the fog slowly tucks away the Golden Gate into the dark. The lights on the bridge brighten the scene and it can also be interpreted as nostalgic and romantic, like a colorized black-and-white movie.
