Argentine sculptress Maria Cristina Lattes uses the most diverse woods: carob, pinotea, eucalyptus and the native palo santo, guayubira and marmelero. She polishes some parts of her works, giving them the texture of a crystal, while in others she leaves the roughness and the darker color of the trunk. Different colors, textures and hardness are the result of her work with the gouge, the chisel and the grinder. Her favorite female figures are her timeless figures that achieve an almost sacred representation, languid and skinny like Giacometti or Modigliani models.
