Leopard was seen as symbol of justice in the Kingdom of Benin. As “king of the forest” his reputation was legendary. Killing a leopard was a privilege Oba(Tribe) who had his own association of leopard hunters equipped with “special powers” which enabled them to kill them without losing their life” .
