My mood is typically at its lowest on Mondays. So on this day, I traditionally listen to a number of songs with rather melancholy sentiments, such as “Rainy Days and Mondays” by the Carpenters. According to some studies, there are physiological factors involving the body’s natural cycle that help explain why Mondays can feel so rough. I also use the weekend to catch up with family and friends, which requires emotional and logistical energy. Therefore, on Mondays, I am more tired than I’d like to be, which is directly correlated to low mood.” Saturdays and Sundays represent freedom for me, while Monday is rigid and regulated as the first working day of the week. So this artwork expresses this mindset shift and clash. I used bright colors to shake me up.
