My still life painting depicts memories of my great-grandmother Gesya, who put all her talents and knowledge into cooking a wonderful Shabbat dinner.

The painting includes all the elements that made her dinner unforgettable.

In the center of the table is a beautifully cooked fried carp, juicy and aromatic, garnished with fresh herbs. There are also bottles of kosher wine on the table, which my great-grandmother poured into our glasses while we enjoyed the taste of her dishes.

Next to the carp on the table are colourful vegetables, which add freshness and brightness to our table. My great-grandmother’s netilat yadayim cup is also on the table, which she used to wash her hands before eating, to always observe religious traditions.

My still life painting is an illustration of her love and care for her family, for traditions and religion. Every element on this table was thoughtfully created with love so that each of us could enjoy these unforgettable moments with great-grandmother Gesya.
