“Pink Moon” was inspired by a road trip my husband and I took through the desert landscape of Arizona. As we drove East down from the top of the Grand Canyon, the colors of the Earth were the most amazing hues of pink, rust and brick. As the sun began to set, casting its warm glow on the already warm colors of the Earth, the entire landscape became infused with an astonishing unearthly pink glow. This is one from a series of paintings I made upon our return, trying to capture the feeling of being immersed in a world of other-worldy colors.
