The photograph was taken at an outdoor fair outside of Quito, Ecuador. She was asking for money and when I gave her some she gave me a huge smile which I was lucky enough to capture.
I have been photographing seriously since 2002, starting with film and moving very quickly to digital imaging. In 2006 I decided that photography was not enough and began painting my images, printing them in black and white and using water colors to enhance the image.
