“Realism meets Impressionism ” was created in 2018 by master oil painter René Cheng.

Cheng started this artwork “Realism meets impressionism” in a workshop with Omar Ortiz. Omar dedicated some beautiful words to René Cheng, on the back of the work. Cheng wanted to capture the details of the arms and hands of this man, where you can see every hair and every vein; but yo make sure that it is an oil painting and giving it some contrast, he creates an impressionist background full of flowers (feminine background towards masculine foreground). Is Cheng creating a new artistic trend, by combing realism with impressionism?
