This photo was taken early morning in late May. We were on an excursion to this spot near Missoula, Montana, to capture the sunrise (because this is a prime place in this area to capture a beautiful sunrise popping up over the mountain range to the east). However…. on this day, it was quite cloudy with rain impending. I saw the possibilities here with the river, the clouds, and the spring green growth on the hillside. A long exposure and some in camera motion resulted in this image that evokes the sense of spirits floating through the mists and movements of the river, protecting its life-giving waters.

Her photography reflects her deep love of and respect for nature from the trees large enough to hold centuries to the briefest of insects. She feels that a photograph is more than just an image – it’s a mood, a feeling, a breath. Linda loves finding that place where an image can come to life – where it can truly breathe.
