Life is a journey.
We see but we don’t see.
One Summer afternoon in 2018, my wife, Cynthia and I drove
to Long Beach, New York. The sun was shining, and it was hot. The sky, the ocean and the beach were in full splendor.
We walked on the boardwalk looking for shade. Not finding any shade we ducked into a bar on the boardwalk and had lunch and drinks.
When we came out an hour later the weather had not changed, and it was still hot. We decided to head back to the car to go home.
Earlier I had captured images of cloud formations, so my day
was not a loss from a creative standpoint.
I saw this umbrella.
It’s green against the blue sky.
I captured this image so that I would always have shade.
In 2022, I digitally process this image. Behind the umbrella I used a oil paint effect on the sky.
Shade is the result.
Now that our paths have crossed let us travel together on this collective journey of wonder and beauty.
