“United” was created in 2020 by master oil painter René Cheng.

“United” symbolizes humanity. Each solo. is different, nevertheless all are colors: individual, diverse and  unique, nevertheless all the same despite their differences. Exactly as us humans. Humans need one another, as colors do as well. One color alone is bright and beautiful, but in combination with others, they create an image, capture light, communicate, etc. It is the combination of all colors that enriches the painting and delivers one final image and story. 
Humans are social – we need each other. We have to learn to respect and value each other.

Cheng began to create this painting in the workshop held by master painter José-Luis Corella.
This colorful man’s face is plastic, happy and represents UNITY. 

You recognize Cheng mastery while observing the details: close up to the pupil in the eye, and you will se his image reflected in it… That is Cheng, always giving his very best and as well as his artistic signature: bold colors.
