The title is a quote from T. S. Eliot’s Wasteland (taken from Baudelaire). This looks to me like a city in ruins with bizarre octopus-like buildings. Alternatively those objects could evoke H. G. Wells’ Martians from his science fiction novel, War of the Worlds. In any case, one sees empty hoodoo pedestals with corrugated, banded supports.
