This artwork is the part of the “Old Sheet” and “Great Portraits”art series. The main principle of “Old sheet” series is the discovery and disclosure of only one media. It is fabric – an ordinary old sheet.

My task was to study and analyze the properties of the fabric, to transform them, to combine them with other media, and as a result get absolutely new aesthetic “life” for this media. I wanted to show how one simple material can be endlessly used, what new forms can be given to it and what content can be put into it. 

In the “Grate portraits” series I decided to “work” with my favorite Grandes Maestros – like Botticelli,  Ingres, Vermeer and others. I try to create my own vision of the greatest female portraits, to show the eternal beauty of the masterpieces in the prism of contemporary art. And also add a three-dimensional perception of these portraits, make them closer to the viewer, make them speak in a modern language, and also transform their content into form
