This little painting started as just a little drawing. Something to experiment with yellow and pink.  And then, I saw it as much more.

Astarte. Great Goddess of Love, Peace, Fertility and occasionally, they say she was invoked when needed, for protection during war.

She was part of the triple Goddesses of ancient times.

Demonized in later times, by those who sought out the singular male dominated patriarchal societies.

But Astarte was no demon. Just a bright shining feminine star.

I see her in the forest, in the water, in the rocks. I see her as Mother Earth. I see her in the stars.

I see her everywhere.
