This piece is part of series of portraits, my ever continuing quest to explore the human condition.  These are psychological portraits, painted until a distinct essence or personality emerges.  The work is heavily layered with many images of faces underneath the final image.  I like building faces and watching them go wild, rearranging the features, not always realistically.

I ride the edge in my work, it is where my deepest and most relevant growth happens, where meaning is unraveled and rewoven. In that place I call forth the very best from myself.
