In “Lost Innocence” GATSBY portrays the daughter of Philando Castile who was shot seven times by the police in front of her and her mother.

At the top of the piece you can see the quote “Please tell God that we need him right now”, which is what she told her mother after watching her father being murdered. On the left you can see the police beating an unarmed man and on the right you can see police in riot gear being controlled by a marionette which represents the nefarious monolithic forces actually controlling the police departments. She has  a target on her back and a noose in front of her, representing the dangers of growing up as a person of color in the United States.
