“Marie Antoinette:  Herstory” is part of a series of paintings celebrating women in history through the eyes of women, entitled “Herstory”.  So much of history is written and portrayed by men about men and we forget that there were many women who left their mark.

Marie Antoinette was a larger than life figure, often misunderstood, envied, admired but ultimately, blamed for the dire situation of most people in France during the late 1700s.  Nevertheless, she is said to have a boldness and dignity that did not waiver.
