French artist Christophe Prades started working as an abstract painter at the age of 20. Over time, female figures started to emerge from the magma of color and materials and then took a central role in his work, becoming a kind of modern icons.

His support of choice is the mirror, possibly antique, on which he mixes resins, pigments and ink, layered to create amazing transparency effects.

His work, which he considers a sort of viaticum, questions the representation of the sacred in today’s reign of technology and consumerism. The mirror is thus a magic object that can retain traces of the souls that it has reflected – creating an object which is the sum of the imperfect reflections of these moments.
