The sculpture “Seed” by Stefan Herbst belongs to the series​ ​”Biological Incubator”, through which the artist explores the​ ​problems of identity, class inequality​,​ and demographic crisis. In this object​,​ Nikulin has embodied the fantastic image of newborns​ ​emerging autonomously from a technologically advanced​ ​incubator. In this way​,​ the sculptor addresses the theme of childhood loneliness, caused by the indifference or aggression of​ ​parents, who create offspring unconsciously and are not morally​ ​prepared to have children. According to the author, this problem​ ​is not given enough attention, while it forms generations and​ ​communities of people, on which the development of the future​ ​depends.
