  • Original artwork made by using the Japanese traditional handmade paper “Sekishu Washi” ( grammage: about 25g/㎡) that is the UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage. And that is the “Sekishu Washi for Inkjet print” which was made of collaboration with the workshop “Sekishu Washi Kubota”. That is not used the chemical bleaching and the chemical sizing, so that that is free from ultra-violet few damages.

Snowy view through the Zen enlightenment window. This gentle and silent snowy view from the
enlightenment window expresses the Zen doctrines.

Fundain Temple is a sub-temple of Tofukuji Temple that is one of the most famous temples in Kyoto. And that is famous for Sesshu (Gardener and Painter: 1420-1506) Garden, so that is another name is “Sesshu’s Temple”

Biography

I began photographing at the age of 13 and have continued for over 40 years. I belong to The Photographic Society of Japan.

My main motifs are the Japanese traditional festivals and the environment. The main theme of t he works of traditional festival is “Artistic character of the festival”. I express the Japanese traditional artistic character through the intangible cultural asset. The main theme of the works of environmental art is “Color of the season”. I express the change about the season based on ecological knowledge and use the impressive Japanese coloring.

The characteristic of my works is simplification of the subject, exaggerated perspective, the color control with a feature, and that is to use as reference the characteristics from Ukiyo-e and

I have named it “Digital Ukiyo-e (Registered trademark of Japan)”.

Nowadays, I use to print on the Sekishu Washi that is a handmade Japanese Paper that is UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage.
