“Untitled – Pink Fence” was the second piece of art created by Kate Joiner during the onset of the Coronavirus Covid-19. With the uncertainty on everyone’s mind, the colors of this piece are chosen in correlation with the heightened anxiety that surrounded us. The intention of continuing my series of ‘Secluded and Convenient” and the story of an abandoned equestrian farm has taken a turn to not only reflect the past but also depict the present and possible future.
The intention of this piece was to push the positive/negative space while conversely developing depth through tonal changes within the paint. The chain is a found object collected while surveying the area where this original photos was taken and is placed through the wood to secure the fence to remain closed.
