“I wanted this to be a strong, emotional piece – conveying the struggles a woman endures – including pressure to be thin, being a good mom, being the perfect wife, juggling work and family, dealing with harassment, and domestic abuse. This piece should elicit strength as a response to the figure’s strong overcoming of those pressures and care for herself. Self-reliance, self-trust, and compassion for one’s own soul are all intended to be seen and discovered in the heart of the viewer”.
