Artist Biography
Cecilia Anastos is a self-taught, Italian-American painter. Using oil or acrylic on canvas, paper or wood, Ms. Anastos paints landscapes, cityscapes, and figurative compositions. Sometimes, she expresses her emotions through abstract paintings. Brightly colored and uplifting, her paintings tell stories that touch the relationship of sentient beings with the environment, and the joys and struggles of women around the world.
Â
Ms. Anastos also enjoys creating commissioned paintings. One of them now hangs at the San Diego Superior Court, office of Hon. Judge Muñoz.
Â
Ms. Anastos is a Board Member at the San Diego Museum of Art Artist Guild, and she participates in national and international exhibitions. Her works have been included in exhibitions at the San Diego Museum of Art-Artist Guild, Newport Beach Civic Center, Connecticut Women Artist Gallery, Art San Diego, and many other online exhibitions.
Using oil or acrylic on canvas, paper or wood, I paint landscapes, cityscapes, and surreal-impressionist representations of women. Brightly colored and uplifting, my paintings tell stories that touch the relationship of sentient beings with nature, and the tribulations of women throughout history. Some of these landscapes and cities will disappear due to climate change. I want to leave a legacy of what they used to look like.
If you do not find what you want at my store, I also enjoy creating commissioned paintings.
