Queen Elizabeth II is a part of a series of paintings I created to highlight the “women” in history who are sometimes overlooked. Queen Elizabeth II was the longest reigning monarch in British history, and yet we do not know very much about her as she was a very private person. We do know that she put her country first and ultimately became an inextricable part of the British identity, as seen in this portrait.
