This body of work, called Road Signs, consists of imagery of actual billboards set in various landscapes. I used old photographs taken of billboards along Texas highways taken in the 1980s and 90s as inspiration. I reimagined their form and placed them in landscapes that seem ordinary initially, but more strange upon further investigation. The overall effect is dreamy and surreal.
